SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 32

Congratulating Mrs. Ollie Harvey for being selected West
Virginia's Mother of the Year 1999-2000.
Whereas, Ollie Harvey and her husband, Donald T. Harvey,
raised their three daughters by the "Golden Rule", instilling
high moral values. Mrs. Harvey has contributed many years of
service through her affiliations with family, church, career and
volunteer services; and
Whereas, Mrs. Harvey, who is the Mayor of the City of
Ripley, is a former state president of both the GFWC-West
Virginia Woman's Club and the Methodist Women. She is dedicated
to promoting self-improvement and has taught leadership seminars
across the state and in various parts of the country; and
Whereas, Mrs. Harvey is actively involved with the "Read
Aloud" program and frequently speaks at Career Day sessions. She
was also recognized as the "1997 Woman of Achievement" by the GFWC-West Virginia Woman's Club; and
Whereas, Mrs. Harvey will be an honored guest at the
American Mothers, Inc., conference in Honolulu, Hawaii, in April
of this year as West Virginia Mother of the Year; therefore, be
it
Resolved by the Senate:
That Mrs. Ollie Harvey be congratulated for being selected
as West Virginia's Mother of the Year 1999-2000; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Clerk is hereby directed to
forward a copy of this resolution to Mrs. Ollie Harvey and the
capitol press corps.
